N3O - NewSpace Earth Observation Orbital Objects - was born to build sustainable satellite manufacturing and integration capabilities focused on the needs of a growing market segment, that reinforces the Portuguese space sector position in the European space market. As the key Portuguese Integrator for small satellites, N3O manages the complexity associated with the development and deployment of Earth Observation systems, delivering turnkey products.

Currently, N3O is spearheading the development of the Iberian initiative ”Atlantic Constellation” in partnership with CEiiA.

 

Job Description:
  • This role focuses on performing precise assembly, integration, and testing of satellite subsystems and components within a cleanroom environment, preparing essential materials and equipment for environmental testing (EVT) and launch campaigns.
  • Prepare mechanical integration/setup procedures, conduct the activity (either in ISO5 or ISO7 cleanroom or laboratory) and generate a report for the activity. Also, support failure investigations.
  • Set up and organize materials, equipment, and tools required for various in-house functional and environmental tests, including vibration and thermal tests, ensuring readiness and compliance with test standards.
  • Participate in environmental testing campaigns, including thermal and mechanical tests, and contribute to launch preparation and on-site activities.
  • Document execution of activity, procedure deviation and occurrences (NCR). Contribute to integration and test reports. Maintain up-to-date digital records of integration statuses (logbooks).
  • Prepare and support technical meetings and contribute to adherence to configuration management processes.
  • Support the identification, design, manufacturing and/or procurement of MGSEs, test utilities and any type of equipment or harness required.
  • Follow and support the standard tools and processes established in the frame of Assembly, Integration and Test.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Minimum 3 years in a hands-on mechanical integration role for space missions.
  • Proficiency with integration tools for mechanical and thermal operations within space/aerospace sectors (cleanroom environment is an added value).
  • Experience on satellite AIV in specific Environmental Test Campaigns, Launch Campaigns and satellite transports is considered an added value.
  • Knowledge and experience with GSE.
  • Proactive approach to develop knowledge within electrical systems and spacecraft functional operations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic start-up environment.
  • Strong command of the English language (C1). Portuguese is an added value.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage oneself with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary and multi-disciplinary environments.
  • High standards, rigor, and critical thinking.
  • Proactive attitude.
