Job Status:  Temporary Part-Time

Pay & Grade: $23.17 to $24.09 Hourly Band: 5

Hours of Work:Up to 24 Hours per week

Initial location: The Aud

Posting period:July 31, 2025 to August 7, 2025 (at 6:00pm)

 

Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Event Coordinator to oversee front-of-house operations during events. This role serves as the first point of contact for casual event staff, ensuring smooth coordination, excellent patron service, and adherence to facility policies.

 

This is a temporary part time position to approximately August 7, 2026.

 

Responsibilities

  • Acts as coordinator and first point of contact for casual event staff including assigning work areas.
  • Checks facility prior to event; reports problems to appropriate staff and communicates information to supervisor.
  • Monitor staff during events.  
  • Relieves casual event staff during scheduled breaks.
  • Resolves ticket issues and seating disputes.
  • Ensure staff provide assistance with patrons' special needs, such as helping those with wheelchairs.
  • Ensure staff enforce facility rules and regulations.
  • Awareness of Municipal Alcohol Policy, City policies, procedures, and documents in order to monitor patrons during performance or events. 
  • Recognizes and takes action to correct and/or report customer service concerns, incidents, problems and emergencies; contacts supervisor, security, and emergency personnel as required.
  • Resolves effectively and diplomatically irate customer situations when possible or refers to supervisor as appropriate.
  • Acts as a liaison between front house staff, box office staff, and supervisor.
  • Collects facility event occurrences reports from staff and submits forms to supervisor.
  • Ensure staff guide patrons to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency.
  • Answers event and facility questions; directing patrons to service areas.
  • Performs bag checks as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma.
  • 6 months of related experience.
  • Smart Serve Certification.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Some lifting, reaching and crouching is required.
  • Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
