Much of the work is focussed around the specialist industry codes and agreements and sectoral regulation, but we also advise the firm’s wider client base on contracts and regulation associated with net zero transition.
The role:
What you will be doing:
- drafting and negotiating a wide range of energy contracts
- advising on regulatory matters e.g. compliance with energy legislation, regulations, licences and codes
- advising on related procurement and subsidy control issues
- helping support and mentor the junior lawyers in the team
- playing a proactive role in the team’s client care and business development activities
What you will need:
- between 3-6 years’ experience handling contracts and related legal matters, preferably gained within an energy / regulatory background (though not essential)
- proven experience working in a team environment
- strong analytical skills with commercial acumen
- strong IT skills
- effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- a high degree of initiative and the ability to cope in a fast-paced environment
- excellent organisational and prioritising skills
- excellent communication skills
- a desire to enhance client relationships through day-to-day activity
- the ability to work in a busy team
Benefits, Agile Working and Additional information
This role will a blend of working from home and any of our office hubs; however, some travel to our London office hub will be required on an ad hoc basis
