At PwC, our Cloud, Data & AI Business Unit empowers clients to unlock value from their data by designing and implementing modern, scalable solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). We deliver advanced analytics, data engineering, and AI-driven insights to help organisations transform and innovate.
Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a Data Engineering Associate, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build and optimise data pipelines, enable analytics and AI/ML workloads, and deliver impactful solutions for clients across industries. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage).
Build and manage cloud-native data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouses to support analytics and AI initiatives.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions that enable machine learning and advanced analytics.
Implement DevOps and DataOps practices, including CI/CD, version control, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager).
Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data workflows for performance and cost efficiency.
Document technical solutions and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Hands-on experience with GCP data services: BigQuery, Dataflow/Beam, Dataproc/Spark, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer/Airflow.
Proficiency in SQL and Python
Understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, and ETL/ELT processes.
Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps tools and practices.
Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, and compliance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective communicator.
Preferred certifications: GCP Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Data Engineer.
This role does not require professional engineering licensure and is not classified as a formal engineering position under provincial regulatory definitions. While individuals with a P.Eng designation are welcome to apply, the responsibilities of this role do not involve the practice of professional engineering as defined by applicable legislation.
