About the role:We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to enhance the availability, scalability, and automation of our database infrastructure. Our team is responsible for supporting SQL Server, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and Azure SQL DB. In this role, you will collaborate with Application Development teams to build resilient database solutions that meet the demands of our large-scale applications.What you'll be doing:Design, automate, and monitor highly available and scalable database solutionsOptimize database performance, tuning queries, indexes, and schemas for SQL Server, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Azure SQL DBPartner with Application Development teams to guide best practices for database architecture and performanceDevelop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for database automation and configuration managementEnhance monitoring, alerting, and observability to facilitate proactive issue resolutionImprove database security, backups, and disaster recovery strategiesSupport CI/CD processes for database changes to ensure reliability and complianceTroubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements in database resilienceStay updated with emerging technologies and recommend enhancementsOn-call, but also working on ways to avoid on-callWhat you need:5+ years of experience in database administration, reliability engineering, or database engineeringDeep expertise in SQL Server, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Azure SQL DBExperience working in high-transaction, large-scale application environmentsStrong proficiency in automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, or KubernetesKnowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automationExperience implementing database monitoring, logging, and observability solutionsStrong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and database-as-a-service (DBaaS)Expertise in query optimization, performance tuning, and indexing strategiesExperience supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for database managementStrong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with developers and engineers on other teamsPreferred qualifications:Experience with containerized database workloads (Docker, Kubernetes)Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or DatadogCertifications in SQL Server, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or AzureExperience with multi-region and globally distributed databasesWhere you'll be: 200 Regency Executive Park Dr. Charlotte, NC 28217Employment visa sponsorship is unavailable for this position.
