POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist in the development and implementation of databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Work with management to prioritize business and information needs. Transform data into readable, goal driven reports. Partner with IT management to locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SYSTEMS EVALUATION

• Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex data sets

• Create best practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization

• Work directly with management and users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships

 

ANALYSIS, INTERPRETATION & INTEGRATION

• Work closely with project managers to understand and maintain focus on analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision makers

• Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance

• Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources

• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide reporting

• Filter and clean data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems

 

TECHNICAL SKILL ADVANCEMENT

• Actively seek out learning opportunities in new technologies, data visualization, programming languages and database systems

• Participate in software development and the development of procedural standards

• Be actively aware of new software or hardware that would advance the business

 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Business Analytics, Statistics, or Computer Science or equivalent work experience

• Experience with reporting packages (Power BI, etc.), databases (SQL Server, Data Bricks, etc.), and programming (DAX, XML, JavaScript, ETL frameworks)

• Basic .Net programming skills including C# or VB.NET for data processing and automation tasks

• Familiarity with Visual Studio of Visual Studio Code development environments

• Experience with .NET libraries commonly used in data analysis and reporting applications

• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing data sets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.)

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

• Able to perform queries, write reports, and present findings

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

• Able to communicate across all levels of the organization both in business areas and within IT

• Willing to share knowledge and experience with other members of the team

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to be flexible in work schedule as support for systems is required

• Able to participate in on-call rotation for system issues and questions that occur outside of normal office hours

• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication

• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time

• Able to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.)

• Able to lift 10 to 20 pounds

• Able to work overtime, and normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines and support on-call coverage

• Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development
