The Gig:

Ready to be the hero behind every paycheck and the champion of employee happiness? We're looking for a Payroll & Benefits Generalist who thrives on turning complex numbers into seamless experiences! You'll be the mastermind orchestrating flawless payroll operations while crafting benefits programs that make our team members do happy dances. If you love solving puzzles, building relationships, and being the go-to person who makes everything work like magic, this role is your perfect match!

This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays' as remote days.

What You'll Be Up To:

  • Process complete payroll cycles for all crew members, ensuring accuracy and timely payments

  • Maintain comprehensive payroll records for new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and deductions

  • Calculate and process payroll taxes, benefits deductions, and other withholdings

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations and tax laws

  • Process multi-state payroll operations

  • Prepare monthly payroll summaries, tax filings, and statutory reports

  • Administer comprehensive employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives

  • Lead employee wellness program development and implementation

  • Manage open enrollment processes and benefits communications

  • Assess benefits utilization and recommend cost-effective program improvements

  • Evaluate current benefit offerings against market trends and competitive landscape

  • Collaborate directly with insurance brokers and benefits vendors to manage business relationships

  • Serve as primary contact for all payroll and benefits inquiries, delivering exceptional customer service

  • Resolve employee issues promptly and professionally

  • Communicate benefits enrollment processes and policy changes effectively

  • Assist with unemployment hearings

  • Manage Employee verifications

  • Support implementation and integration of payroll and benefits software

  • Ensure strict compliance with data protection and confidentiality policies

  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to reconcile data and resolve discrepancies

  • Develop and implement payroll and benefits policies and procedures

SuperPowers Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 5 years proven experience in payroll and benefits administration

  • Multi-state payroll processing experience highly preferred

  • Direct experience working with insurance brokers and benefits vendors

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, particularly ADP and Workday

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting required

  • Experience with payroll software and benefits management systems

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple deadlines

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to identify and resolve complex issues

  • Professional discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information

  • Strong communication skills for employee relations and vendor management

  • Continuous learning mindset to adapt to regulatory changes and industry evolution
