Overview of Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Business Analyst to join our growing business consulting team. The Senior Business Analyst will play a critical role in understanding client business needs, translating them into actionable requirements, and ensuring successful project delivery. You will work closely with clients, project managers, engineers, and architects to gather, analyze, and document business processes and technical specifications related to  delivering client solutions.

Our ideal candidate will understand the value of teamwork and love living in the in-between of project delivery and managing high-trust client relationships. We are looking for the right fit with our rapidly growing organization and will invest in training.

Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough interviews and workshops with clients to understand their business objectives, challenges, and requirements
    • Analyze existing business processes and identify areas for improvement for our solutions
    • Translate business requirements into clear, concise, and testable functional and non-functional requirements
    • Document and manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle
    • Document meeting notes
  • Solution Design and Documentation:
    • Collaborate with solution architects and engineers to design solutions that meet client requirements.
    • Create detailed documentation, including: business requirements documents (BRDs), user stories, use cases, test cases, process flows, and data flow diagrams.
    • Assist in the development of proposals and statements of work (SOWs).
  • Project Support and Communication:
    • Act as a liaison between clients and the project team, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
    • Participate in project meetings, providing updates and addressing any issues.
    • Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure that solutions meet client expectations.
    • Help create training materials, and assist in user training.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze data to identify trends and insights that can inform business decisions.
    • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track project progress and performance.
    • Assist in data migration planning and execution.
  • Leadership and Mentoring:
    • Provide guidance and support to junior Business Analysts.
    • Share best practices and knowledge with team members.
    • Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
    • Potentially lead smaller project initiatives or requirement gathering efforts.
    • Contribute to the development of internal training materials and knowledge base articles.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably in a consulting or technology environment.
  • Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies and techniques.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements.
  • Experience with process modeling and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and technologies, ideally Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
  • Experience with software development and SDLC methodologies (especially agile methodologies)
  • Proficiency in using business analysis tools and software (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience or demonstrated ability to mentor, or lead others.
  • Strong problem solving abilities.
