TYPE OF POSITION/EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Part-Time, Staff

SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday, 9:00am to 2:00pm

HOURS/WEEK and MONTHS/YEAR: 20 hours/week and 52 weeks/year
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt, Hourly
GENERAL PURPOSE
Provides general administrative support for Academic Programs within the School of Arts and Sciences (Math and Computer Science as the main department). Receives screens and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail and email. Prepares and maintains files and records according. Works directly with external constituents (e.g. vendors, visitors, prospective students, parents, institutional contacts, external faculty) and internal staff to resolve routine and non-routine issues. Uses business software applications (e.g., word processing, presentation and spreadsheet) to prepare standard correspondence. Coordinates meeting arrangements and completes and tracks expenses and other budgetary transactions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as the first point of contact for both internal and external constituents (i.e., vendors, parents, visitors).
- Involved in budgetary aspects of the department, including the ordering of office, tracking expenses, filling out and submitting payment authorizations.
- Prepares correspondence, maintains files and databases.
- Initiates, schedules and/or monitors the processing of hiring requests, budget transfers, contracts, requisitions, supplies and room reservation and setup.
- Managing events for the department.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 to 3 years of prior office experience
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC CONTACT
- Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.
SALARY INFORMATION
When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring hourly pay rate for this position is $20.00. This hourly rate represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
