POSITION:  Trade Compliance Customs Analyst - 12 month temporary position

LOCATION: Mahwah, NJ

RECRUITMENT SALARY RANGE: $95,000 - $119,000*

Reporting to the Customs Manager, you will join the Customs Team on an approximately 12-month assignment, supporting import and export activities between the U.S. and Canada. Your role will focus on JLRNA’s metals project, various tariff mitigation initiatives, and other key Trade Compliance responsibilities as needed.

  • Manage data across large data sets – attention to detail is critical.
  • Conduct detailed audits of customs entries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of Post Summary Corrections (PSCs).
  • Analyze and manage large, complex datasets to identify discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor and respond to changes in tariff classifications and trade regulations.
  • Support internal teams on trade-related projects and mitigation initiatives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Support trade compliance projects from initiation through successful completion.
  • Provide guidance on U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) regulations.
  • Support export compliance activities as needed.
  • Apply principles of Reasonable Care in all compliance activities.
  • Perform other duties as required

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in trade compliance or customs operations.
  • Proficient in excel
  • Experience in the automotive parts industry is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage and interpret large datasets across multiple platforms.
  • Experience filing Post Summary Corrections and conducting entry audits.
  • Knowledge of Canadian CBSA regulations and procedures (preferred).
  • Familiarity with export compliance requirements (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and Reasonable Care standards.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Curious, ambitious, and committed to continuous learning.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment.

 

Schedule: Hybrid Ways of Working (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - office days; Wednesday and Friday - choice days)

 

*Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized components, including location, skills, experience, and market factors. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus in addition to a full range of medical/health, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick/personal, and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position”.
