- Be a full-time service LVT in AMCâs Rehab department
Qualifications
- NYS Veterinary Technicianâs license (or permit)Â
- Ability to handle and restrain all species of animalÂ
- Must be able to lift 50 poundsÂ
- Must be able to bend or kneel for extended periods of time while helping with patient restraint Â
- Must be able to work successfully as part of a teamÂ
- Ability to work independently and proactivelyÂ
- Follow detailed directions and established protocolsÂ
- Electronic medical record experience preferredÂ
- Must have flexibility necessary to work weekends, holidays and additional hours as neededÂ
- CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) CCRVT (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Technician) or CCRA (Certified Canine Rehabilitation assistant)
Responsibilities
- Rehabilitation treatments including exercising, massage, hot/cold packing, tub/treadmill treatments, ultrasound, hot/cold therapy, laser treatments and acupunctureÂ
- Assess patients on dischargeÂ
- Communicate professionally with clients and referral veterinarians regarding the patientâs rehabilitation progressÂ
- Maintain concise and accurate records of the patientâs treatment progress and chargesÂ
- Assist in planning, performing and tailoring rehabilitation treatments according to patientâs needsÂ
- Maintain the cleanliness of Rehabilitation DepartmentÂ
- Order and stock supplies as necessaryÂ
- All other related duties as assignedÂ
