The General Superintendent is responsible for managing and coordinating all field operations within the assigned division. This role provides leadership to field staff, ensures safety and quality standards are met, and maintains strong communication between management and field teams.

Chip seal experience is required for this position. Candidates must have prior hands‑on experience working on chip seal or road maintenance projects, including operating equipment and understanding proper aggregate application. This experience is necessary to ensure quality workmanship, safety compliance, and efficient coordination with paving crews.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all field operations for the assigned division
  • Lead, train, and develop superintendents and field personnel
  • Address performance issues through coaching, documentation, and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Review project budgets and conduct field previews prior to project start
  • Ensure all job sites, equipment, and traffic control devices meet company safety standards
  • Attend pre‑construction meetings when required
  • Ensure traffic control devices are removed from completed projects and returned to company or rental yards
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication regarding field operations and personnel issues
  • Coordinate closely with Production Superintendents and General Superintendents
  • Ensure daily B2W logs are completed accurately and on time

Reporting Structure

  • Reports directly to the Division Manager

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience/ Chip
  • Valid Driving record
  • Clean driving record for the past 3 years
  • Ability to work outdoors in hot and physically demanding conditions
  • Able to travel and work flexible hours as required
  • Must pass drug testing
  • Must be able to work under the Head of AZ Travel
