Woodard & Curran is growing! We are looking for a maintenance mechanic/technician to support a wastewater plant that treats Industrial wastewater from a food & beverage facility in Crossville, TN. The Crossville, Tennessee staff is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and the building and grounds. The Operators/Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for process monitoring and adjustments, as well as performing basic mechanical repairs on pumps, compressors, valves, and much more. You will participate in the daily operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility as directed by the Plant Manager.
Schedule: The schedule is typically eight days on, six days off. 2nd shift Hours: 11:00am to 9:00pm and 3rd shift Hours are: 8:00pm to 6:00am. You will work from Wednesday through the following Wednesday and then get the next 6 days off. Weekdays are 10-hour days and the weekends (Saturday & Sunday) and holidays are 12-hour days.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Participate in the daily operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility as directed by the Plant/Project Manager.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair of all plant equipment.
- Daily inspection of operating sites.
- Perform data entry and report generation, including data for preparing the Monthly Operating Report.
- Coordinate to ensure that other plant employees follow established administrative, safety, and operating policies.
- Monitors and control assigned tasks to ensure cost-effective service.
What you will need to succeed!
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of pumps, motors, electrical and automation equipment, plumbing fixtures, boilers, and compressors.
- Experience working in a wastewater treatment facility preferred.
- High School or trade school diploma is required, Associate Degree or higher preferred.
- A valid motor vehicle operator's license.
- Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in wastewater treatment work.
- Knowledge of computer applications, or ability to use & learn various software programs [Hach WIMS, SEMS CMMS, and Utility Cloud], preferred.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply instructions, drawings, and specifications for work assigned.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other personnel, and the general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs., climb up and down stairs multiple times a shift, and work from heights of 12 feet on a regular basis.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-placement background check, physical and drug screen before employment.
