Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Other duties will be assigned as needed) Must be willing and able to do the following:

Operations

  • Oversee daily food preparation, cooking, and service to ensure consistent quality and portioning.
  • Lead shift operations, including opening and closing procedures, complete daily checklists, cleanliness checks, and prep execution to standard.
  • Accurately ring up food and beverage items and process guest payment.
  • Understand and respond knowledgeably to questions about Wow Bao and menu.
  • Use sales techniques to present and encourage current promotions to guests.
  • Presents current promotional information to Guests and encourages their participation.
  • Partners with other Crew Members, Shift Supervisors, and Managers to meet target goals during a shift.
  • Prepare menu items according to prescribed recipes and/or special requests.
  • Operate and utilize the dish machine and cleaning supplies.
  • Wash, sanitize and dry all kitchen utensils, equipment and other items.
  • Ability to read a thermometer.
  • Removes garbage and keeping garbage area cleaned.
  • Assist with general cleanliness of the store and restrooms.
  • Assist in working off-site events.

Team Support & Training

  • Provide ongoing feedback and guidance to build a positive and high-performing team culture.
  • Assist with scheduling, task delegation, and shift management as needed.
  • Guest Experience
  • Interacts with all Guests while practicing C.A.R.E. Hospitality (Contact, Above and Beyond, Respect, Enthusiasm).
  • Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipate guests’ needs.
  • Ensure guests are greeted promptly, orders are accurate, and service is delivered with C.A.R.E. hospitality.
  • Use tact and good judgement when dealing with guest challenges and respond to guest needs with patience and courtesy.

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company, local, and state regulations at all times.
  • Conduct temperature logs, cleanliness checks and equipment inspections.
  • Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment.
  • Understand and follow food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions.
  • Inventory & Administration
  • Monitor product levels, food cost, portion control, waste and coordinate timely restocking.
  • Assist management with inventory, purchasing process, including ordering and processing invoices.
  • Complete shift reports and communicate operational updates to management.

Other Essential Functions

  • Availability to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Other duties will be assigned as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1+ years of experience in food service, hospitality, or restaurant supervision (fast-casual preferred).
  • Supervisor must obtain and maintain a City of Chicago approved Allergen Awareness Certificate and a Manager Food Safety (Servsafe Manager) Certificate.
  • Required certifications must be completed within 30 days of hire.
  • Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency of the English language for professional, customer-oriented communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment, including the POS system, Gift Card and Credit Card terminals.
  • Partake in a professional and positive work environment.
  • Treat everyone with respect and professionalism.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Continuous standing and walking.
  • Moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs and uneven or slick surfaces.
  • Working in confined spaces of varying noise and temperature levels including hot equipment, steam, and fast-moving environments.
  • Lifting and moving up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

The pay for this position is between $16.00 to $17.50 an hour plus tips.  The hourly pay amount will vary depending on the applicant’s experience, skills and abilities as well as internal equity and market data.
