Role Overview

Located in the vibrant city of Vienna, we are an agri-commodity business with an expanding division focused on packing edible nuts. We’re on the lookout for a detail-oriented and operationally savvy Operations Analyst to help us enhance the daily performance of our packing operations. This position plays a key role at the crossroads of operations and finance, offering valuable insights that drive efficiency, control costs, and assist in production planning. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our operations, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure that everything runs smoothly and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

Continuously monitor the performance of daily and weekly packing operations by tracking essential metrics such as throughput volumes, yield rates, waste levels, and downtime. Take a proactive approach to identify trends and resolve potential issues through effective communication with the operations manager.

Collaborate with the operations team to support production planning and scheduling, ensuring that packing capabilities align with the availability of incoming raw materials and customer order requirements.

Track and assess key operational KPIs, creating and maintaining dashboards to provide management with clear insights into production performance in relation to established targets.

Conduct cost analyses across packing operations, reviewing metrics such as cost per unit, labor efficiency, packaging material usage, and overhead distribution. Identify and present opportunities for cost reductions and process improvements.

Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, assisting with stock reconciliation and promptly addressing any discrepancies or supply chain risks.

Analyze supplier and raw material performance metrics, including quality measurements, delivery reliability, and pricing trends, to guide procurement strategies.

Work with the FP&A team to provide operational insights and data for monthly reports, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

Assist in maintaining records of quality and compliance, ensuring that operational documentation meets food safety and regulatory standards relevant to Austria and the EU.

Help prepare operational reports and presentations for senior management, translating complex data into clear and actionable insights.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in operations analysis, supply chain management, or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience in the agri-commodity sector or a related industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient understanding of supply chain processes, logistics, and inventory management.
