POSITION SUMMARY
The Training Manager will support the Contractor Acquisition University (CAU) program at the Department of Energy (DOE) National Training Center (NTC). They will be responsible for coordinating schedules, development and production of learning and multimedia products and services to include courses, and virtual instructor-led training coordination. The Training Manager must work collaboratively with subcontractors, training coordinators, instructors, course managers, instructional designers, editors, multimedia staff, information technology staff, registration and senior management to manage training products and services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
- Lead teams of subcontractors, instructions designers, eLearning developers, subject matter experts, instructors, and training coordinators, driving the development and delivery of vital acquisition training.
- Perform program and project management to include crafting annual departmental operation plans and managing department budgets.
- Serve as the main point of contact for client and relevant stakeholders, facilitating regular communication and ensuring alignment of project tasks with strategic objectives.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to anticipate needs, resolve issues, and maintain training project momentum.
- Interfaces with working groups, customers, policy organizations, and others to ensure currency of training and to identify emergent training needs.
- Ensures adequate department staffing and skill mix are available to meet mission needs.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Has knowledge and demonstrates the ability to perform the following functions:
- Supervises and evaluates training requirements and develops learning principles objectives and outcomes utilizing applicable technology tools.
- Relevant experience in project management, training development, and stakeholder engagement, and/or knowledge management within DOE or similar environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs, utilizing a variety of instructional methods.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Defense/War (DOD/W) installation access which will involve obtaining a DBIDS card
- Participation in IB3's Workplace Substance Abuse Program (WSAP) which includes random drug testing
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION(S) REQUIRED
- Bachelor's in learning and development, instructional design, or related field. Five (5) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in supervising or managing training programs.
- Experience with project management planning and scheduling tools are desirable.
- DOE experience desired.
- DOE/NTC Basic Instructor Training Course
- DOE/NTC Curriculum Development Training Certification
- PMP of CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer), desired
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Position is on-site at the NTC Facility at Kirtland, AFB, Albuquerque, NM. Remote work is not permitted.
- Ability to sit for long periods
