About Cultivo
Cultivo is a leading platform for developing and operating natural assets. Our mission is to accelerate investment into natural assets at scale to build healthy and resilient landscapes. We partner with institutional investors and multinational corporations who view nature as essential infrastructure. Our model generates financial returns through payments for services, primarily carbon removal, unlocked by land regeneration activities.
Cultivo's technology and data-driven approach streamlines the entire project lifecycle, from origination to management and monitoring, ensuring trust and integrity at every step. As a Public Benefit Corporation, we are committed to regenerating natural landscapes in partnership with land stewards to safeguard critical natural infrastructure and services.
We are a diverse, international team that moves fast, holds a high bar for rigor, and believes deeply that how we work matters as much as what we achieve.

About the role
We’re looking for a high-agency, bilingual Project Manager to join our Operations & Project Success team. This role is central to how Cultivo delivers on its commitments – you’ll own the execution of live natural capital projects with a primary focus on our Latin America and Mexico-based programs, while also contributing to other projects in our global pipeline as needed.
This is not a role where you wait to be told what to do. You’ll be expected to proactively identify what needs to happen, mobilize the right people and resources, solve problems in real time, and drive projects forward across complex, multi-stakeholder environments – often spanning different countries, cultures, and technical disciplines. You’ll work directly with ranchers, landowners, technical partners, auditors, scientists, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Bilingual fluency in both Spanish and English is essential to this role. You’ll conduct work, build relationships, and communicate across both languages daily – and the quality of your communication in each must be excellent, not merely functional.
This role reports to our Senior Manager of Project Success based out of San Francisco.
What you’ll do
- Project execution & delivery
- Own end-to-end execution of assigned grassland regeneration and other natural capital projects – from planning through monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) – ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Build and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers; proactively identify issues and drive resolution before they become blockers
- Take full accountability for project-level KPI delivery – including project-ready acreage targets, MRV timelines, and budget adherence – and maintain clear visibility into performance against targets at all times
- Coordinate field operations, soil sampling campaigns, data collection, and technical partner workflows across multiple ranch / project sites and geographies
- Implement and enforce Cultivo's standard operating procedures across all project activities — ensuring consistency and repeatability in how projects are planned, executed, and documented, and flagging gaps or improvements as you encounter them in the field
- Ensure project compliance with relevant carbon registry standards, regulatory requirements, and Cultivo’s internal quality frameworks
- Stakeholder management & communication
- Lead direct engagement with and serve as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders on your projects, including landowners, ranchers, technical partners, auditors, regulatory bodies, and community members – many of whom operate primarily in Spanish – throughout the project lifecycle, from onboarding and relationship-building through ongoing communication, practice attestation, and issue resolution
- Manage contractor and supplier relationships end-to-end: sourcing, onboarding, performance management, and contract negotiations
- Provide regular, clear, and concise project updates to internal leadership and external partners; proactively flag risks and tradeoffs with proposed solutions
- Navigate complex, multi-party dynamics with diplomacy and clarity, building trust across cultures, sectors, and levels of technical sophistication
- Operational excellence & systems building
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Cultivo’s project management systems, templates, and standard operating procedures
- Provide input into Cultivo’s technology platforms based on frontline project experience and stakeholder feedback
- Support cross-functional initiatives and contribute to company-wide operational planning, including resource allocation and capacity management
Requirements
- Experience & track record
- 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in renewable energy, land restoration, agriculture, natural resource management, carbon markets, or similar project-based environments
- Demonstrated track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects from inception through completion – especially in environments with distributed teams, international counterparties, and ambiguous or evolving requirements
- Proven ability to plan and execute on course-corrections in inherited projects, as needed
- Proven ability to manage project finances, control costs, and hold projects to budget and timeline commitments
- Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and third-party technical partners, including contract negotiation and performance management
- Familiarity with the voluntary carbon credit market strongly preferred – particularly grassland restoration and improved forest management – and the related registries and standards bodies
- Experience with regulatory, permitting, and compliance requirements in project contexts
- Skills & capabilities
- Fully bilingual in Spanish and English (written and verbal) at a professional/native level
- This is a firm requirement – you will operate in both languages daily, including in high-stakes stakeholder communications, contract discussions, and field coordination
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills – you bring structure to complexity and can manage multiple concurrent workstreams without dropping balls
- Strong written and verbal communication – you can distill complex project dynamics into clear updates, escalations, and recommendations
- Proactive, independent, and resourceful – you have a bias toward action and can operate effectively with minimal oversight in a fast-moving startup environment
- Education & credentials
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Engineering, Natural Sciences, Renewables, or a related field
- PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification preferred but not required if experience speaks for itself
- Other
- Willingness and enthusiasm for occasional international travel for project needs (primarily Latin America)
- Based in the United States – with a preference for candidates located near our Berkeley or New York City hubs
Benefits
- Competitive compensation package, including equity options and annual bonus
- Access to health insurance and retirement plan
- Remote working with access to co-working spaces in specific geographies
- Flexible work hours with emphasis on results
- Six months paid parental leave
- Unlimited paid vacation
- Opportunities for personal and professional growth in an innovative and supportive environment
