Job Description
The Senior Director, Experiences & Events is a foundational marketing leader responsible for establishing and scaling the experiences and events function. This role owns the strategy, design, and delivery of high-impact premium experiences that bring the brand, products, and customer value proposition to life for customers and B2B audiences.
Working in close partnership with Creative, Retention Marketing, Product Marketing, Sales, and Comms, this leader translates business objectives into measurable, end-to-end experiences that drive pipeline, customer engagement, retention, advocacy and long-term brand equity.
Responsibilities
Experiences & Events Center of Excellence: Lead and modernize a centralized experiences and events organization that supports marketing and business functions. Define and execute the events and experiences strategy, operating model, calendar, and governance across owned, sponsored, and partner-led programs.
Experience Strategy: Own the end-to-end experience strategy across Nielsen events, industry conferences, executive forums, customer summits, partnership events, and programs. Ensure experiences are aligned to target audiences, customer journeys, and cultural relevancies..
Planning, Execution & Performance: Partner with Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Retention Marketing, and Sales to align experiences to specific audiences, ABM, and customer lifecycle objectives. Establish clear success metrics and measurement frameworks for events and experiences.
Cross Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with the Creative, Digital, Retention Marketing, Sales and other functions to ensure all experiences are on-brand, customer insight-led, and consistently executed. Translate creative vision and storytelling into physical, digital, and hybrid environments.
Team and Vendors Leadership: Build, mentor, and scale multidisciplinary teams across event strategy, production, operations, and experience design. Lead agency, production, and technology partners to deliver high-quality experiences at scale. Own timelines and resource planning across the events portfolio.
Budget Management: create and manage the functional budget, ensuring efforts, partnerships and initiatives are cost-effective and yield a positive return on investment.
Qualifications
12+ years of experience leading B2B events and experiential marketing in global brands with a strong reputation as an expert.
Global experience and familiarity with modern, premium, hybrid and virtual event platforms preferred.
7+ years of experience in managing vendors, agencies and leading teams, including both direct reports and production partners.
Demonstrated success aligning events and experiences to measurable business outcomes, including pipeline and revenue impact.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex strategies to executive-level stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent experience; advanced degree or specialized certifications preferred.
