Mallory Alexander International Logistics, a global third-party logistics company (3PL) headquartered in Memphis, TN has an immediate opening for a Logistics Professional to join our team!
We are seeking a Project Cargo Coordinator to manage complex domestic and international shipments, including oversized and turnkey project cargo. This role requires strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Account & Project Duties
- Manage day-to-day execution of assigned export customer accounts and project cargo shipments
- Track export project milestones and ensure all timelines and vessel cutoffs are met
- Identify, escalate, and resolve high-risk or high-cost operational issues
Customer Communication & Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for routine export customer inquiries
- Communicate shipment status, schedule changes, delays, and operational updates
- Provide export documentation and shipment updates upon request
- Assist with export quoting and customer rate support
Export Operations & Transportation Coordination
- Coordinate inland transportation for export cargo, including drayage and over-the-road trucking
- Assign export loads to carriers and owner-operators
- Manage terminal deliveries, equipment returns, and free-time tracking
- Coordinate special export equipment requirements (flat racks, open tops, heavy-lift equipment, etc.)
- Schedule export deliveries to ports, terminals, and consolidation points
- Confirm ETDs, vessel schedules, and cargo receipt
- Track export shipments and monitor layover, detention, and port congestion issues
- Resolve day-of-export operational issues and exceptions
Warehouse & Transloading Coordination

Coordinate export cargo unloading, transloading, consolidation, and load-out activities
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and review export shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, and export instructions
- Prepare and submit AES filings and other required export regulatory documentation
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of export BLs and documentation
- Coordinate with customs brokers, steamship lines, terminals, and government agencies as required
Financial & Billing Support
- Review carrier and vendor invoices for accuracy and approval
- Validate detention, demurrage, storage, and other accessorial charges
- Support accurate customer billing and assist with dispute resolution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related field preferred but not required
- 5–7 years of experience in Project Cargo and export logistics
- Proficient in CargoWise
- Strong knowledge of export transportation modes and international shipping practices
- Solid understanding of export regulations, AES filings, and compliance
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
- Willingness to travel locally and nationally as required for customer and project support
