Opening its doors over 45 years ago, FSSI is a leading document outsourcing company servicing Fortune 500 companies in the financial, banking, insurance and billing industries across the U.S. We are currently looking for a Print Buyer to join our team in Santa Ana, CA or Orlando, FL. The Print Buyer supports the planning, purchasing, and scheduling of print production materials, such as roll and cut-sheet paper stock, inserts, and envelopes. This role partners closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure materials are purchased on time and within budget. Our ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and communicates clearly. They ensure a consistent and timely supply of materials to support print production and mailing operations, while building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing and reliable availability.
This role requires full-time, onsite presence, Monday through Friday, at either our Santa Ana, CA or Orlando, FL facility.
Your Essential Duties:
- Support Client Services and Business Development with the sourcing, quoting, and purchasing of print production materials for active, one-time, and proposed jobs.
- Implement the end-to-end print buying process from gathering requirements and quoting through order placement, production coordination, and final delivery.
- QC all artwork and samples from clients and suppliers to ensure they match client requirements and the specifications listed on the purchase orders.
- Assist in vendor selection and maintain a strong relationship with multiple vendors nationwide.
- Maintain an up-to-date technical understanding of print and envelope materials along with their cost drivers.
- Create and organize purchase orders and approval documentation for outside services using the automated purchase order system.
- Monitor and proactively order house inventory for all company locations, ensuring zero stock outages.
- Communicate delivery and expectations to the Warehouse.
- Proactively communicate with suppliers to ensure they can meet on-time delivery of product and quality standards.
- Meet with Production and Warehouse personnel regarding stock quality issues and facilitate the return of stock to suppliers if needed.
- Train new Client Services Representatives in the purchasing process and print materials terminology, as needed.
- Ensure all communications are documented in writing, preferably by email.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in purchasing within the print industry.
- Strong understanding of purchasing, buyer responsibilities, and supply chain/inventory management.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Proven ability to work effectively and independently with cross-functional teams at all levels.
- High attention to detail with a track record of accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proactive, flexible problem-solver with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness and ability to learn specialized equipment, materials, and production capabilities to support informed purchasing decisions.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software.

Hiring Range: $31.00 - 41.00/hour
