Description
For over 50 years, Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated, growing to become one of Edmonton’s largest and most respected road construction contractors. We are currently seeking a Construction Superintendent to join our Underground Services team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary along with comprehensive benefits.
This role is essential in managing the successful execution of underground construction projects—ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing personnel and personnel performance, and delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
You will be expected to manage multiple priorities and maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and municipal authorities while adhering to company policies and safety regulations.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
- Work with other department supervisors to coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of underground crews in the execution of various construction projects.
- Manage personnel and assets based on project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to meet contractual commitments.
- Recruit and develop personnel across all construction positions.
- Coordinate with project managers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
- Lead/attend project meetings and maintain clear communication across all stakeholders.
- Monitor work progress/production, identify potential risks, and implement corrective measures.
- Promote a culture of safety, ensure that all personnel under your supervision are adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including reports, logs, and records.
- Consistently deliver projects that meet quality standards, timelines, and budget targets.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in supervising multiple construction crews, specifically in underground construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and leadership skills—able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven problem-solving ability and capacity to perform under pressure.
- Proficiency with project/construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in estimating software and budget preparation.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- PMP designation or equivalent certification considered and asset.
