Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual, physical, and dimensional inspections of parts, assemblies, and materials at various stages (in-process, final, and first article) to ensure conformance to specifications and drawings.
- Use a variety of precision inspection tools, including micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, huck and height gauges and feeler gauges.
- Demonstrate strong visual acuity with the ability to detect defects in complex products and assess workmanship quality per customer specifications.
- Classify defect types and verify rework completed during inspection.
- Verify documentation packages meet industry and commodity-specific standards.
- Ensure proper protection and preservation of inspected products prior to further processing or shipment.
- Perform 5S activities.
- Assist with customer requests.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection
- Experience inspecting fasteners and rivets
- Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards
- Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.001)
- Experience with certificates of conformance and inspection documentation.
- Ability to adapt to new technology and software
- Weekends are required (every other week)
- Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products
- Must be willing to undergo a background check
- Must be ITAR compliant
- Ability to read and write in English and communicate clearly verbally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Certification in inspection techniques or GD&T is a plus.
