We are currently seeking a Chief Building Engineer who will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity and functionality of our properties. As the Chief Building Engineer, you will ensure that all building systems, equipment, and infrastructure operate at peak performance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical knowledge of building operations, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a commitment to upholding safety and compliance standards. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of building maintenance and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and codes.
  • Manage the maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to optimize building operations.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to and resolve maintenance issues and emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in building maintenance or engineering, with a focus on multi-family residential properties.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
  • Proven supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a maintenance team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Relevant licenses or certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical) are preferred.
