About The Job:
City Light Capital is seeking an energetic, passionate, and intellectually curious Analyst to join our investment team. This position is ideal for an early-career professional passionate about venture capital, entrepreneurship, and impact investing. City Light Capital is seeking a team member who can learn and adapt quickly to a fast-paced startup environment and take on multiple projects simultaneously.
The position will be based in our New York City office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate inbound startup opportunities and assess alignment with City Light’s investment thesis
- Support partners with due diligence of potential venture capital investments
- Conduct market research on City Light’s three sectors of interest (health care, education, and climate)
- Help create quarterly financial reports and annual impact reports for investors.
- Build and review operating models and scenario analyses for early-stage companies
- Help the team effectively manage/track a large seed portfolio (including portfolio onboarding)
- Assist portfolio companies with research related to business development
- Manage internal databases of deal opportunities and relevant relationships
- Develop and curate a network of founders, operators, investors, and ecosystem partners to support deal flow and market insight over time
Requirements
Ideal Qualifications:
- Strong academic record and excellent critical thinking, analytical, research, and communication skills
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Extensive experience in financial modeling and familiarity with reading company financial statements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated passion for City Light’s mission
- Ability to work with cutting-edge tech

Compensation will be considered on an individual basis, with experience taken into account. The total compensation range for this position is expected to be $100,000 to $125,000.
