As a cross-disciplinary health-focused product development team consisting of research, technology, design, strategy and product functions, we define the next generation of mobile health product and service experiences for Samsung devices.
Position Summary: We are looking for Ph.D. candidates with a strong background in electrochemistry to develop the next generation of biosensors for diagnostic applications. You will play a critical role in advancing our electrochemical sensing platform by designing and executing experiments that bridge chemistry, biology, and materials science. We're seeking someone with technical expertise who is also passionate about translating fundamental research into practical healthcare solutions. You will work in a collaborative environment where your insights will directly shape product development and contribute to breakthrough innovations in point-of-care diagnostics.
Position Responsibilities:
- Work with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and clinicians to design and optimize electrochemical biosensors for biofluid applications
- Propose, design, setup, and execute electrochemical experiments using potentiostats and other analytical instrumentation to characterize sensor performance
- Analyze and interpret complex electrochemical data including cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, and chronoamperometry results
- Communicate experimental results through clear written reports, presentations, and team meetings to drive project decision-making
- Troubleshoot experimental challenges and iterate on sensor designs to improve sensitivity, selectivity, and stability
- Stay current with literature in electrochemical biosensing and propose innovative approaches to technical challenges
Required Skills:
- Currently pursuing Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with electrochemical techniques and equipment, like potentiostats (Gamry, BioLogic, PalmSens, or similar platforms)
- Strong foundation in electrochemistry principles including electrode kinetics, mass transport, and sensor design
- Experience working with biological fluids (blood, saliva, urine, etc.) and understanding of biocompatibility considerations
- Proficiency in data analysis using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for processing electrochemical datasets
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment
