- Ufficio in London
A Bit About The Role
We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join the growing Data & BI team at an exciting time in Butternut’s journey. This role is well suited to someone who has been working in data for a few years - for example as a BI analyst, data analyst, or in another data-focused role - and is looking to build deeper technical skills in analytics engineering.
You should be comfortable working with SQL, curious about how data platforms are built, and motivated to learn how to create reliable, well-structured datasets that support decision-making. You will work closely with more experienced analytics engineers, BI analysts, and data scientists, contributing to shared data models and pipelines while continuing to develop your craft.
This role sits at the intersection of data analytics and data engineering. You will contribute to transforming raw data into clean, well-modelled datasets used across the business. As a data-driven company, you will collaborate with both technical teammates and stakeholders from across Butternut, helping ensure data is accurate, accessible, and useful for analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of data models, transformations, and pipelines using SQL and DBT.
- Supporting data quality and reliability through testing, monitoring, and documentation.
- Collaborating with analysts and business stakeholders to understand data needs, improve reporting, and optimise workflows.
- Assisting in building reporting and datasets for new areas of the business as they come online.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working in a data-focused role (for e.g., BI analyst, data analyst, or analytics engineer).
- Strong SQL skills, with experience writing clear and well-structured queries.
- Some exposure to dbt, or a strong interest in learning and using it day-to-day.
- A thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to working with data.
- An interest in analytics engineering best practices, such as testing, documentation, and automation.
- Familiarity with version control (for example Git) is a plus.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
How to make your CV stand out
We’re looking for candidates who not only meet the criteria but also demonstrate a clear fit with our values and culture 🐕.
When submitting your CV, please consider the following:
- Show relevant experience: Highlight projects or roles where you contributed to reporting, data modelling, or improving data processes.
- Explain your impact: Share examples of how your work supported better decisions, improved data quality, or made processes more efficient.
- Show how you work: If you’ve worked in fast-growing environments or enjoy learning and improving systems over time, we’d love to hear about it.
