Description
The Attendant Care Provider is responsible for performing tasks related to Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) for an eligible DDD member. This service is non-skilled and focuses on assisting the member with personal care and home management tasks necessary for their health and safety, promoting independent living in the least restrictive environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Support:
- Provide hands-on assistance with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, showering, oral hygiene, and grooming.
- Assist with dressing and undressing, including the application of orthotics or prosthetics.
- Assist with toileting and incontinence care, including diapering, repositioning, and pericare.
- Provide support for safe ambulation and transferring (e.g., in/out of bed, wheelchair, or commode) using approved techniques or equipment.
- Assist with eating/feeding and ensuring proper nutrition intake.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Experience: Prior experience providing personal care or supportive services to individuals with developmental or physical disabilities is highly preferred.
- Background and Certification:
- Possess a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Current Certification in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, hands-on assistance with ADLs and IADLs safely and professionally.
- Communication: Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and complete required documentation accurately.
