Responsibilities:
- Design and develop tests to generate performance data that meet internal and external customer program objectives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company technology, customer needs, market trends, and industry direction.
- Maintain safe work practices and adhere to all safety regulations.
- Comply with all ISO and quality system requirements, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement.
- Maintain productive relationships with team members and both internal and external customers.
- Prepare technical reports and deliver presentations as needed to both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a testing environment, preferably within automotive, fuels, emissions, or lubricant testing.
- Experience with the design, construction, and commissioning of test cells, rigs, or other research tools is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of vehicles, engines, transmissions, and associated electronics.
- Solid understanding of PID control.
Skills & Abilities:
- Working knowledge of SI and CI engines, fuel management systems, electronic engine control, CAN communication, and basic instrumentation and test cell hardware.
- Strong project management skills (MS Project) and the ability to run projects with minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments.
- Strong presentation development and delivery skills.
- Customer service-oriented with a proactive approach to assignments.
- Able to handle multiple work interruptions while maintaining focus on detail.
- Proficiency in routine computer applications.
- Basic knowledge of statistics is desirable.
- Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels, from technicians to executives.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively.
- Ability to travel as needed (up to 20%).
