About the Team 

The M&A and Venture Investments team identifies, evaluates, and executes strategic acquisitions and investments globally. We are a high-performing, entrepreneurial team that partners with senior leadership across Fitch, Hearst, and external stakeholders to support the firm’s growth strategy. Team members are expected to combine technical strength with drive, curiosity, agility, and maturity, enabling us to evaluate capital allocation opportunities with precision, depth, and impact.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

  • Partner with teams across Fitch to understand their businesses, product roadmaps, strategic priorities, and the markets in which they operate — translating these insights into SWOT analyses that inform strategic direction
  • Perform comprehensive market research and competitor analysis to deliver insights that shape strategy, deal sourcing, and opportunity assessment
  • Build and maintain a forward-looking pipeline of acquisition and investment opportunities, proactively driving deal sourcing efforts
  • Conduct rigorous financial analysis and due diligence, including scenario modeling and valuation analysis
  • Lead due diligence workstreams and support transaction execution, coordinating activities across cross-functional teams and external advisors
  • Contribute to deal structuring and negotiations, incorporating perspectives from business, legal, finance, and operations
  • Develop high-quality presentations, memos, and recommendations that provide clear insights and strategic value to senior leadership across the organization
  • Support integration planning and post-merger execution to ensure acquired businesses are positioned for long-term success
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including investment banks, private equity firms, corporate owners, and target companies

 

You May be a Good Fit if: 

  • 10+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, and / or corporate development
  • Exceptional financial analysis and modeling skills, with the ability to flex between market analysis, deal structuring, and M&A execution
  • Demonstrated ability to run due diligence processes and coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Intellectual curiosity and drive to dive deep into markets, companies, and deal opportunities
  • Proactive, self-directed, and responsive, with the ability to move quickly while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver insight-driven recommendations
  • Highly collaborative team player with the ability to present data-driven insights and build consensus around strategic priorities
  • Advanced level of maturity and judgment with the ability to represent Fitch credibly with internal and external stakeholders

FOR NEW YORK AND CHICAGO ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $250,000 and $300,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
