Veterinary Technician Clinical Director – Aurora, CO Campus

Position Summary

The Veterinary Technician Clinical Director is responsible for coordinating the clinical education and instruction of students in the Veterinary Nursing Programs. This role ensures high-quality training by managing clinical partnerships, monitoring student progress, and supporting program development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Secure and maintain clinical affiliation contracts, ensuring sites meet program requirements.

• Conduct student orientations for clinical education sites.

• Track student success rates, implement retention strategies, and maintain an 80% or higher student success rate.

• Monitor and evaluate student competency in clinical settings.

• Maintain accurate student records, grades, and transcripts in compliance with institutional policies.

• Assess student performance and adjust instruction to meet learning needs.

• Visit clinical sites to evaluate student progress and collaborate with site instructors.

• Coordinate and refine the clinical education plan in collaboration with the Program Director.

• Schedule student clinical rotations and develop learning objectives and evaluations.

• Assist with admissions processes as needed.

• Serve as a Veterinary Nursing instructor when required.

Additional Responsibilities

• Mental Tasks: Interpret educational materials, follow oral/written instructions, and communicate effectively.

• Physical Tasks: File documents, demonstrate veterinary nursing techniques (including lifting and animal restraint).

• Equipment Used: Standard veterinary tools, office equipment (computer, printer, copier).

• Work Environment: Classroom, lab, and office settings; potential exposure to biohazards (blood, bodily fluids) and outdoor large animal enclosures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program (Bachelor’s preferred).

• Experience: 3+ years of veterinary field experience; leadership/supervisory experience a plus.

• Licensure/Certification: Current RVT or CVT credential (or equivalent state-required license).

• Skills: Strong verbal/written communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $78,030 – $97,535 (commensurate with experience)
