About this opportunity:
The Vulnerability Assessment & Management Specialist is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and managing security vulnerabilities across the customer’s IT infrastructure. This role involves running and optimizing vulnerability scanning tools, ensuring their proper configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management. The specialist collaborates closely with IT, security, and application teams to ensure timely remediation of risks and continuous improvement of the security posture.
What you will do:
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans across servers, networks, applications, cloud environments, and endpoints.
- Analyze scan results, validate findings, and prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk and business impact.
- Track and manage remediation activities with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams.
- Monitor threat intelligence feeds to correlate vulnerabilities with emerging exploits and risks.
- Prepare executive dashboards and periodic reports on vulnerability trends, remediation SLAs, and compliance status.
- Configure, operate, and optimize enterprise vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, OpenVAS).
- Customize scan policies, templates, schedules, and credentials as per business and security requirements.
- Ensure accurate asset discovery, classification, and tagging for reliable scanning coverage.
The skills you bring:
- Troubleshoot tool-related issues and coordinate with vendors when required.
- Perform health checks, patching, version upgrades, and plugin updates for vulnerability management tools.
- Maintain documentation for tool configurations, procedures, and change management.
- Plan and execute tool migrations, infrastructure refresh, or platform upgrades.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise LCM policies and security requirements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely closure of identified vulnerabilities.
- Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives (CIS, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NIST, etc.).
- Develop best practices, SOPs, and training materials for internal teams.
- Participate in security incident investigations where vulnerabilities may be root causes.
