4 on 4 off, days only 6am – 6pm

Purpose of the role:
To provide full administration support for the Laboratory Team and Laboratory Manager. Provide additional administrative support to other Technical Management members and the Factory Quality Managers.
Duties of a Laboratory Admin:
• Ensure that laboratory files are kept up to date and accurate so that they are accessible to all laboratory staff.
• All samples collected and sent according to schedule and customers' requests
• Minimise the number of lost or damaged parcels (circa 10 parcels sent per week)
• Lab consumables stock maintained efficiently every week: circa 20 different items, approximately £1,000 per week stock purchase, orders placed in time for punctual delivery
• Ensuring consumable supply and demand is well balanced with no downtime in internal storages/ offices/ other premises. Ensuring stock is kept at optimal levels to prevent negativity impacting laboratory practices or expenditure
• Reduced costs for sent parcels in comparison to last month/ quarter/year
• Reduced costs for lab consumables purchased in comparison to last month/quarter/year
• Accurate and timely report preparation (utilising 7 spreadsheets of data)
• Accurate records keeping
• Completed training and tests
• Keeping working environment compliant with health and safety requirements
What you need to be successful as a Laboratory Admin:
• Minimum 1 year experience in an Laboratory setting or administrative role
• Used to dealing with suppliers and customers
• Experience of laboratory environment
• Strong IT Skills; Microsoft office packages
• Knowledge of stock control and purchasing
