About the role: 

Homelessness Review Service is looking to recruit enthusiastic, experienced Reviewing Officers, who have the skills and commitment to deliver a high quality reviews service.

The purpose of this role is to complete s202 Housing Act reviews and Parts 6 and 7  of the Housing Act 1996 reviews to a high standard. To ensure full compliance with statute, case law and good practise. To ensure that the Reviews service is customer focused and efficient, to protect the service from litigation and to ensure customers receive the right decision, within target deadlines.

The successful candidate will have a detailed knowledge of the operation of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, conversant with the Suitability Order 2012 and allied legislation, case law, code of Guidance. You will be able to communicate at an appropriate level with all service users.

The successful candidate will also have ability to meet strict deadlines while also juggling competing priorities, has a passion for investigative work, and has an eye for details.

Increasingly the bulk of the reviews comprise suitability of accommodation offered to discharge Relief Duty and Main Duty. 

You will draft complex decisions. Make recommendations where service improvements have been identified. You must be IT literate, able to analyse information and reports in various forms.

Excellent letter and report writing skills

The ability to build affective collaborative working relationships across internal Services.
