Position Overview

This is a highly technical position that is ultimately responsible for the continuous operation of the physical/virtual server infrastructure and application environment, including all hardware and software upgrades and final resolution of all escalated service issues.  A thorough understanding of LAN and WAN technologies as well as the ability to perform design, implementation, and security and maintenance functions is required for this position.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of the server, database, storage, virtualization and backup infrastructures.
  • Responsible for supporting entire lifecycle of enterprise applications including design, implementation, maintenance and decommissions.
  • On a 24/7 basis, work with other Server Infrastructure Engineers to provide continuous operation of the Bancorp’s infrastructure
  • Implement and maintain automation processes whenever possible
  • Execute structured change control for all activity in accordance with corporate standards and policies
  • Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans ensuring that applications are functioning properly and ready for unplanned outages
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation on system design and functionality
  • Perform routine monitoring and resolution of server performance and system alerts.
  • Perform routine auditing and maintenance of server systems
  • Perform routine security, firmware and OS patching/upgrades of server and infrastructure systems
  • Produce reports of managed systems as directed
  • Proactively monitor and update enterprise and 3rd party issued certificates and service account passwords
  • Maintain the company’s partner single sign-on federations
  • Remain knowledgeable of technical industry advancements and comply with all requirements concerning responsibilities.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery testing activities related to infrastructure services

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related area of study), or equivalent specialized technical education, and 3 or more years of experience as a Systems Engineer or similar; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Flexible work schedule – must be available for on call duties to respond to problems

Competencies

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all IS/IT staff, vendors, customers and management
  • Support collaboration with stakeholders to analyze current state environments, identify solutions to existing issues and/or design new technology solutions
  • Write effective technical documentation and technical diagrams
  • Knowledge and skill including, but not limited to the following: Storage Area Networks (SANs), PURE & Dell Storage, PowerShell scripting, Active Directory, Exchange, VMware, Hyper-V, SQL Server, Cisco UCS infrastructure, Cisco MDS, System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), IIS, Hyland Onbase, Globalscape Workspaces, MOVEit Automation (or other various file transfer services)
  • Microsoft Azure / O365 Management
  • Single Sign-On (Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and Microsoft Entra SSO)
  • Professionalism and demeanor
  • Work well under pressure to solve problems in an effective and timely manner

Preferred, but not required

  • Experience with leading a technical team and project management
  • Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, or VMware VCP is a plus

Location Details

This position is considered a hybrid role.  With management approval, an incumbent may work a combination of remote and onsite work to perform the regular responsibilities of the role.  Actual schedule requirements may vary based upon business needs.  May be required to travel locally to other locations as needed.


Compensation & Benefits

Base pay:  $77,705- $110,000
