Description
Greater Nashua Mental Health is looking for a full-time Therapist to join our Mental Health Court Team! The Community Corrections Mental Health Court Program services as a voluntary alternative to incarceration. Candidates must be comfortable providing clinical diagnostic assessments for mental health and substance use disorder, individual, and group therapy to adults with criminal justice system involvement. Candidates must be skilled in communicating with a multidisciplinary team involving the court, prosecutors, public defenders, and others around clinical treatment recommendations and progress. Work is primarily in an office setting, with some flexibility including one evening per week (until 7 pm).
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs client screening to determine eligibility for the program as directed by MHC Liaison.
- Provides assessment and evaluation to determine appropriate services for participants.
- Provides individual and group therapy with fidelity to evidence-based treatments and curricula.
- Responds to client crises and emergencies, as needed, during business hours.
- Works collaboratively with assigned Case Manager, PPO, Recovery Coach, and participant to develop an integrated and individualized case plan targeting the specific criminogenic needs of assigned participants.
- Communicates effectively and professionally on client progress toward treatment and case plan goals in addition to clinically relevant information to the multidisciplinary team and court in both written and verbal formats.
- Meaningfully participates in court hearings, staffing meetings, and policy meetings as part of multidisciplinary team.
- Maintains complete, timely, confidential, and accurate screenings, assessments, service notes, and treatment plans in an electronic health record system, as outlined in GNMH policies and procedures.
- Meets service delivery requirements.
- Complies with all facility, personnel, safety, infection control, and security policies.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- NH License eligible
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations, including individuals who are justice-involved
- Skills in the treatment of mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders
- Familiarity with community resources
- Knowledge of department and Agency policies and procedures, as well as other services provided
- Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
- Strong skills in collaboration, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, and be flexible with regard to workload and assignments
- Ability to exercise judgment
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and automobile with liability insurance in the amount required by agency policy
