Umialik Insurance Company, a member of the Western National Insurance Group, is seeking a Business Systems Training Specialist to join our team!
The individual in this role will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create and implement highly visible technical skills development and learning experiences that affect associates at all levels of the organization.
What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?
- Develops strong partnerships with business leaders and SMEs to identify and prioritize learning needs; collaboratively develops and implements strategic, business segment specific training roadmaps.
- Incorporates gathered information from stakeholders and SMEs to develop training materials and scripts; works closely with resources to create and maintain learning videos.
- Develops training activities and hands-on trainings for end users.
- Facilitates training sessions for end users transitioning to new software; maintains files and records of training attendance and completions.
- Makes recommendations and modifications to training, as appropriate, based on feedback, results of training effectiveness, and quality review results.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Provides guidance to less experienced team members.
- Interprets information and develops and executes plans / trainings.
- Applies knowledge to help solve problems of multifaceted scope and complexity.
- Identifies, creates, and analyzes training programs, finding solutions for execution.
- Consistently acts according to our customer experience standards, including responding quickly, maintaining a positive attitude, building rapport, demonstrating empathy, managing the customer’s expectations, using the proper communication channel for the situation, and taking ownership to ensure the customer’s issue is resolved.
- Supports and interacts with all levels of the organization and agency partners as indicated by training initiatives.
Requirements
What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate?
- Strong business analysis and functional understanding, including requirements gathering to create effective training scripts and course content.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage workload priorities and / or seek guidance when necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver end user training.
- Proven work ethic with a sense of personal responsibility for work outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, business, training, or related field preferred; experience in lieu of degree acceptable.
- Proficient use of various core systems, office and computer equipment, and software packages.
- Knowledge of learning management systems is a plus.
What will our ideal candidate have?
- Prior experience as a trainer or similar position.
- Insurance experience.
Physical Requirements
- Position may require up 50% overnight travel.
- Ability to speak in front of groups of people.
- Job requires ability to lift up to ten (10) lbs.
Compensation overview
The full hiring range for this role is $69,615 – $95,749.50, annually. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and/or may be considered for other positions.
