Valero are recruiting for a Terminal Operator at the fuel terminal located in Plymouth.
Valero Plymouth is a fuel storage facility, utilising a marine import system, above ground storage tanks and a truck loading facility to manage the safe receipt and distribution of refined petroleum product. The terminal operates on a 24/7 basis, and the terminal staff team operate a 24/7 shift pattern.
We are looking for a skilled candidate with relevant industrial experience or similar transferrable skills, capable of integrating into the terminal staff team, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the terminal. Working as part of the operations team, the Terminal Operator will oversee the safe discharge of petroleum ships and the loading of petroleum road tankers, work permitting and supervising site maintenance activity, and accounting for the inward and outward movements of the petroleum products. To do this, the Plymouth site utilises a modern SCADA and I.T. system, so a successful candidate must be computer literate with I.T. experience.

The Terminal Operator will help the terminal carry out regular site inspection, process monitoring and performance observations ensuring that facilities are operated in a manner that provides a safe environment for employees and contractors.

The terminal operator’s duties will include:
· Shipping Supervision, overseeing the offload of petroleum tankers
· Tank Storage Management
· Truck Loading Supervision
· Reviewing Risk Assessments and Methods Statement
· Developing and Issuing Work Permits to Maintenance Contractors
· Inventory management
· Maintenance Tasks
· Alarm Management and Response
· Qualifications in any of the following areas would be advantageous to the applicant:
· Any trade qualification
· Health and Safety qualification
· Vessel or truck loading/offloading experience
· Experience in bulk petroleum storage
· Project management
