As a Junior Air Quality Monitoring Technician in Alberta, you’ll be part of our growing Environmental Management team, helping to enhance WSP’s Environmental service offerings across the province. You’ll work alongside a close-knit group of engineering specialists, professionals, and technical staff, supporting air quality monitoring programs that make a real difference to communities and ecosystems.

 

Your Impact

  • Perform monthly calibrations and routine maintenance on ambient air monitoring equipment to ensure accurate data collection
  • Deploy and collect intermittent and passive air samples across various field locations
  • Set up and maintain continuous ambient air monitoring stations and data collection systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair monitoring equipment to maintain optimal performance and data integrity
  • Prepare and submit detailed field documentation to support data analysis and reporting
  • Contribute to environmental monitoring efforts that inform sustainable development and regulatory compliance across Alberta
 

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Instrumentation, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Atmospheric Science, or a related technical field
  • Hands-on experience in the environmental field with a focus on air quality monitoring
  • Comfortable working with hand tools and electronic equipment; strong mechanical aptitude is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Committed to producing high-quality, accurate work and maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of the role
