Overview:

Delaware North Gaming is searching for an experienced Senior Human Resources Manager to join our enterprise HR team to provide support specific to our Wheeling Island Casino and Mardi Gras Casino. Our ideal candidate has a thorough understanding of HR policy and procedures and is an effective communicator and influencer of associates at all levels of an organization. The HR Manager role will involve associate onboarding, training, compliance,employee relations, and being the connector between the location and our enterprise Human Resources team. We are eager to find an HR Manager who easily connects with people and has a detail-oriented mindset to handle the changing nature of our organization and the workforce.

 

This role can be located at either location, and must be willing to travel between both as needed. The primary shift for this role is Monday - Friday, normal business hours. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required based on business need.

Unit Description:

Delaware North operates Mardi Gras Casino and Resort dating back to 2018. Located 14 miles west of Charleston, West Virginia, Mardi Gras features more than 25 table games, a poker room, more than 850 slot machines, live greyhound racing, and off-track betting for both greyhound and horse racing; several restaurants and a 150-room hotel.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to attract, hire, and onboard new team members
  • Develop and deliver training to new and existing associates, ensuring they have a thorough understanding of their job functions, policies, procedures, and opportunities for growth
  • Handle all associate relations matters and complaints, including conducting investigations and complaint resolution. Participate in the grievance process for union associates when applicable
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in internal auditing and the maintenance and safeguarding of associate files
  • Act as a connector between the location and our enterprise HR team, advocating and educating for consistent and best practice policies and practices, and sharing insights and knowledge unique to the location
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience required
  • Experience working in a union environment is required
  • Experience in the Gaming/Casino industry preferred
  • PHR or SPHR certification is preferred
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or similar HRIS, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to travel between both locations regularly
  • Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Have or able to obtain a WV gaming license
