STUDENT INTERVENTION SPECIALIST
Supervisor: Building Principal
Salary Range: PSE Salary Schedule Para III
Location/Assignment: Monument Elementary 6.5Hours per Day
SUMMARY:
The Student Intervention Specialist supports students’ academic and behavioral success under the direction of the Building Administrator. This role builds positive relationships with students & stakeholders, provides targeted interventions, teaches conflict-resolution skills, assists in addressing attendance challenges, and reinforces schoolwide values and expectations for academic excellence. Student Intervention Specialists will support the implementation of school-wide Restorative Justice, PBIS, Check-in/Check-out, academic supports and interventions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Restorative Justice Practices
- Use restorative practices to proactively address and repair student relationships
- Mediate conflict resolution(s)
- Lead student circles
- PBIS Support
- Participate in PBIS meetings
- Assist with rewards and incentives
- Behavioral Interventions

- Gather, share and monitor pertinent infomation for the support of behavior interventions and support for positive outcomes
- Provide support/interventions to get students back on track
- Check-in/Check-out Program
- Provide student check-ins and check-outs
- Monitor at-risk students and coordinate efforts with staff
- Academic Supports and Interventions
- Collaborate and communicate effectively through a variety of methods.
- Student supervision (monitoring hallways, lunch periods and assemblies, etc.).
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education, it must meet the criteria of the Higher Education Act, Section 101 (a). All classes must be at level 100 or higher, OR
- Associate’s degree (or higher) OR
- Pass the ETS Parapro Assessment test or in the process of completing para-pro certification.
- Bilingual/Biliterate Preferred
- Experience working with TK-12 students.
- First Aid/CPR card or ability to obtain.
- Demonstrate basic computer literacy skills.
- Demonstrate consistent punctuality and attendance.
- Demonstrate flexibility with schedule changes as students’ needs change.
- Previous experience in an educational setting preferred

180-259 Day Employees- Paid leave benefits to include 10 sick days, 10 paid holidays, and 3 personal leave days.
260 Day Employee-Paid leave benefits to include a minimum of 12 sick days, 13 paid holiday and 3 personal leave days and a minimum of 10 days’ vacation after the first year.
*Benefits may be prorated based upon date of hire/hours per day.
