Responsibilities:
- Direct actuarial operations for major business lines or entire departments.
- Provide authoritative guidance on complex actuarial matters.
- Represent the company in industry associations.
- Develop and present to Chief Life Actuary long-term strategies and policies for the actuarial function.
- Provide leadership to all actuarial functions.
- Build and manage high-performing actuarial teams, directly and/or through a matrix.
- Drive innovation in actuarial methodologies and applications.
- Accountable for the integrity of actuarial work products across the organization.
- May sign statutory statements and provide formal actuarial opinions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in actuarial sciences, mathematics, statistics, or related field preferred.
- ASA and FSA certification.
- 5+ years of experience in life insurance pricing, valuation, or financial projections/modeling required.
- 5+ years of management experience.
- Experience with AXIS software preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Has a positive impact on the actuarial team and its stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate actuarial concepts to a diverse audience.
- Ability to solve problems efficiently.
- Ability to build trust with employees and leadership.
- Ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations.
