About the role

As an IT Solution Architect at Trustmark, you will play a critical role leveraging your experience providing architecture and technical thought leadership and end-to-end execution of business unit solutions, leading the evaluation and selection of technology to solve operational business needs within a business unit domain.

The role will focus on applying enterprise standards, frameworks, and reference architectures. You will work closely with the IT leadership team and business stakeholders to design and develop strategic IT roadmaps- providing technical oversight managing third party vendors to adhere to previously developed and approved architectural solutions. The role will drive innovation, develop/review domain level architecture and is responsible for IT innovation and promotion of new technologies while ensuring enterprise architectural standards and best practices are followed across the organization.

Responsible for developing architecture solutions involving multiple application components in support of complex projects to deliver for major enhancements, functions and features. Provides a disciplined approach to enable real business value, facilitate user adoption, drive down the total cost of ownership and minimize the risk of failure. Responsible for engaging the development team and applying enterprise reference architectures, standards, models, methods, services and other applications to ensure consistent, rapid and disciplined development.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyzes the needs of business projects, programs, and initiatives; leads the design of solutions to meet those needs.

  • Communicates complex choices and justifications regarding solution design that meets business stakeholders project needs.

  • Adheres and applies reference architectures, patterns, best practices, processes, and standards set by the Enterprise Architecture and Domain Architects.

  • Works with development teams to analyze and document non-functional requirements and ensures implementation.

  • Works with development teams to ensure technology solutions are implemented adhering to proposed solution architecture as expected.

  • Identifies system, infrastructure and project interdependencies and balance competing demands to ensure architecture deliverables are completed in a timely manner.  Raises concerns to project management and Enterprise Architecture.

  • Reviews and approves interface changes between applications, such as APIs, File-Based Interfaces, and shared databases.

  • Evaluates approaches, makes recommendations, and confirms conformance to to branching, release, testing, and development processes.

  • Prepares and presents project documentation for the architecture review board.

  • Provides technical oversight and guidance to application architects

  • Influences business and technical leaders and stakeholders of the major projects and programs with technology choices and decisions leading to implementation of technical solutions delivering on the planned business outcomes

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with typically more than 10 - 12 years of related experience.

  • Normally holds an advanced degree in area of specialization.

The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):

$110,252.00 - $204,753.00 per year

The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for commission.
