Description
This position has the responsibility to produce and underwrite risks appropriate to the defined Class of business on behalf of the syndicate in accordance with the approved business plan and defined personal authority limits. He/she will work within a team and report directly to the Head of Property and a matrix line to the Global Head of Property.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Effectively manage the day-to-day tasks associated with managing the binders and the broader portfolio.
Assist the Head of Property in effectively managing and implementing the portfolio strategy
Technically underwrite renewal and new business by reviewing cover holder business plans & guidelines.
Collaborate closely with internal colleagues and stakeholders, including the cat modelling team, pricing actuaries, claims and other lines of business
Continually monitor performance of binders, and identify changes as required.
Grow the property binder portfolio in line with identified risk appetite and Property binder strategy.
Prepare referrals to the Head of Property for items above individual underwriting authority or outside of the agreed Terms & Conditions of the binder contract.
Collaborate closely with Delegated Authority Management (DAM) team to ensure adherence to compliance & regulatory requirements.
Maintain and develop strong cover holder and broker relationships through regular strategic market facing interactions.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
Minimum 3 years Commercial Property underwriting experience
Detailed understanding of commercial Property exposures.
Lloyd’s and London market experience would be an advantage.
Degree preferable but not essential
Proficient in using software relating risk assessment.
