JOB SUMMARY


The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving assigned catering/banquet goals tied to the overall performance of the hotel(s) served. This role includes soliciting and securing new accounts, as well as

servicing clients and groups where applicable. The Sales Manager will work closely with the

Director of Sales or Director of Catering to achieve the hotel’s revenue and market share goals for one or more properties. The focus of catering sales may vary based on the respective property, such as Social,

Corporate, Business, or SMERF. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.


EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; previous Catering Sales experience preferred
  • Creativity and knowledge of food and beverage are desired
  • Valid driver’s license for the applicable state
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell, and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guests, and/or corporate clients
  • Experience with professional selling skills, including opening, probing, supporting, and closing
  • Proficiency in general computer knowledge, especially Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks with strong organization and presentation skills

JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

  • Achieve assigned sales and revenue goals, as well as solicitation call targets
  • Proactively conduct solicitation calls, sales tours, and entertain clients specific to Social, Corporate, Business, or SMERF, depending on the property
  • Foster and grow existing relationships with assigned accounts in SMERF, Catering, and Wedding, as relevant to the property.
  • Monitor and evaluate trends within the market segment
  • Approach all interactions with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality’s established regulations, company standards, catering/meeting standards, and related catering sales metrics
  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicable departments
  • Ensure timely and accurate generation of the Daily Event List, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)/Guarantee Sheets, and Ten-Day Event Schedule
  • Maintain strong visibility within local community and industry organizations, as applicable
  • Assist with implementing or participating in special promotions, such as sales blitzes
  • Attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management
  • Perform other duties as requested by the General Manager or Director of Sales
