About the Position

In this role, you will...

  • Monitor program and fiscal operations, analyze data, and prepare reports to ensure budgets follow approved plans and guidelines.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and provide fiscal guidance before funds are transferred or expended.

  • Coordinate with staff to develop operating budgets and offer training and support on financial processes.

  • Create tools, processes, and spreadsheets to assist with forecasting and budget monitoring.

  • Prepare and process financial documents such as budget resolutions, transfers, journal entries, and payment requests.

  • Compile and present periodic financial reports on expenditures, revenues, and other key issues.

  • Review fee and rate studies, financial models, and eGenda items for accuracy and completeness.

  • Conduct financial analyses and occasionally support presentations or materials for leadership and public boards.

  • Collaborate with departments, partners, and strategy teams to address fiscal challenges and improve processes.

  • Mentor colleagues, support change initiatives, and demonstrate behaviors that contribute to a high-performing organization.

About the Schedule

Work Hours:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.

  • Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. (no weekends!)

As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency.

E-Work/Hybrid Work: Enjoy the flexibility of working from home up to two days per week! After your first six months, and based on job performance and departmental needs, you’ll be eligible to take advantage of this great benefit.

About You

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or other related field with a minimum of 3+ years of progressively responsible experience.

  • OR: Master’s Degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience (applicants would need a minimum of 2+ years of related work experience).

  • OR: 7+ years of related experience or certifications may substitute for the required education, at management discretion.

  • Proficient with a variety of software applications and strong time-management skills.

  • Experienced in leading projects or program teams, including setting goals and managing timelines.

  • Able to address complex or sensitive issues and effectively train internal and external customers.

About Everything Else

Starting Pay: Up to $65,000, based on experience.
