Job Summary:

The primary goal of this role is to guide and empower the engineering team in building, evolving, and optimizing modern content platform experiences. This includes leading the design, development, configuration, testing, and continuous improvement of scalable, high-performance systems. The role also oversees the delivery and long-term stability of enterprise software solutions, ensuring smooth deployments and ongoing excellence in production. Beyond execution, this leader provides technical direction and strategic insight - shaping the roadmap, championing innovation through AI-driven solutions, and ensuring the overall health and growth of the content platform ecosystem.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Leads a high-performing engineering team in support of achieving the company’s mission. Manages performance and fosters an inclusive, collaborative environment that helps associates reach their full potential.

  • Acts as a full-stack, hands-on technical leader - guiding teams in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-availability content and digital experience platforms.

  • Manages engineering services across the design, build, and sustainment of modern technology solutions; oversees the translation of business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions.

  • Influences and establishes best-in-class engineering and DevOps practices through sound architectural decisions and code quality standards; conducts regular code and design reviews to ensure teams adhere to best practices; provides technical guidance and assists in resolving complex issues at both the code and platform levels.

  • Leverages DevOps and observability tools to improve speed-to-market, enhance reliability, and drive proactive platform performance monitoring and optimization.

  • Partners closely with scrum teams to align capacity planning, identify process improvements, and continuously increase velocity while reducing sprint spillover.

  • Builds trust and alignment across diverse stakeholders, including internal customers, senior leadership, and external technology partners, by communicating with transparency and clarity.

  • Resolves escalated technical and delivery challenges during the development, configuration, and maintenance of integrated enterprise applications and content delivery solutions.

  • Designs and oversees solutions leveraging microservice and event-driven architectures, API-first design, and scalable data pipelines.

  • Champions experimentation with AI and automation technologies to enhance productivity, content intelligence, and operational efficiency within content platforms.

  • Partners with product management to define and influence technology roadmaps, priorities, and resource allocations across multiple services, applications, and capabilities.

  • Provides input for departmental budget and forecasting, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Coordinates estimation, planning, and execution of projects, balancing speed, quality, and technical debt management.

  • Manages multiple concurrent services or applications and coordinates resources by partnering with internal technology teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.

  • Leads the team through all technology solution development phases by ensuring adherence to company methodologies, policies, standards, and controls.

  • Promotes engineering excellence, operational maturity, and continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring, and setting measurable objectives and key results (OKRs).
