About the role

Are you an experienced professional looking for an exciting opportunity to effectively manage projects throughout all project phases to facilitate the successful property renewal of the projects managed by the Chief Operations Office Division? The City of Sydney is undergoing a significant transformational change within Property Services, and we’re seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Project Manager.

We manage a unique and diverse range of assets, including heritage-listed commercial buildings, award-winning libraries, and operationally critical depots. Our portfolio includes over 1,500 property interests worth $2.7 billion, covering assets such as building properties, footway agreements, vacant land, and road interests. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the realisation of our Sustainable Sydney 2030–2050 vision by driving high-performance asset management.

As the Senior Project Manager, you’ll:

  • develop and deliver a range of property renewal projects by using your knowledge of the Construction Industry
  • coordinating design, tendering for and managing contractors, providing technical direction and ensuring projects are delivered within pre-determined limits of time, cost and quality
  • collaborating and managing client and project needs using effective interpersonal and communication skills.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • tertiary professional qualifications, at degree level, in a relevant field, such as Project Management, Civil/ Structural/Services Engineering, or equivalent relevant industry experience including Contract Administration (with demonstrated Project Management capabilities)
  • advanced knowledge and proven experience in Project Management including the planning and delivery of property renewal projects in the public and/or private sectors
  • demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects to meet expected time, cost, quality, safety, environmental and sustainability targets
  • strong communication and experience in achieving good relationships with clients, stakeholders, consultants and contractors
  • knowledge and proven experience to manage project risks, finances, project programming and undertake contract administration.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
