Airnorth are recruiting for Maintenance Watch Engineers to join the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) team based in our Perth office.
Reporting to the Technical Support Manager. The role focuses on providing effective day of operation support and notification of engineering operational issues relating to aircraft availability dispatch. This includes AOG recovery; front line maintenance support, defect deferral and rectification; technical advice to Flight Crews/ AMO’s, and notification of aircraft limitations and maintenance significant events to Airnorth Operations and the CAMO.
This is a rostered position operating on a rotating roster.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Liaison with maintenance providers, Flight and Network Operations Management, and other Airnorth departments to ensure efficient recovery of AOG aircraft with minimal operational impact.
- Review MEL and deferred defect reports and deferrals, and coordinate resources to minimise schedule disruptions.
- Provide formal notification and reports to relevant departments of all AOG aircraft and defects with an operational or maintenance restriction and their operational impact.
- Perform technical review of post flight defects and ensure transcription of their details and aircraft utilisation in CMMS.
- Support CAMO to optimise aircraft availability dispatch reliability.
- Liaison with AMO and Supply Chain department to address AOG recovery and MEL clearance.
- Ensure that all maintenance operations comply with safety standards and company procedures. Actively promote safety and security reporting within the SMS by all staff.
- Raise and Coordinate requests with Manufacturers, Part 21 Approved Organisations, Approved Persons and CASA to obtain Permissible Unserviceability (PU), MEL Extension, Special Flight Permit (SFP) and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA's).
Who we are looking for:
Our ideal candidate has at least 10 years aircraft maintenance engineering experience, including 5 years as a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer on EMB-120, ERJ-170 and ERJ-190 or similar aircraft types.
- Previous experience in a maintenance watch or similar operational role.
- Possesses high-level of verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to manage and prioritise tasks efficiently and methodically and work independently, under changing operational demands.
- Proficiency in managing aircraft maintenance records.
- Able to provide trouble shooting support with defects to AMO.
- Working knowledge of CASR Part 42 Continuing Airworthiness Regulations and Standards.
- Strong computer literacy and experience with MS Office suite, maintenance management software (AMOS, Envision, IAS, TRAX, Winair or similar) are essential.
