The Base Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the facility management, compliance, and efficiency of all base and workshop facilities across India. This role ensures infrastructure, equipment, buildings, related services and processes meet the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. The candidate will collaborate closely with product line managers, operations teams, and support functions to align base operations with business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily administrative aspect of all bases and workshops across India operations base / facility, ensuring alignment with country, Geozone and corporate goals.
  • Plan and supervise facility layouts, facility equipment installations, and maintenance schedules to optimize space and functionality of base / facility.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, company standards, and HSE requirements for all facilities / operations base as per country specific and inline with Weatherford SOP’s.
  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs for buildings, utilities, workshop and shared services equipment / vehicles.
  • Develop and monitor facility budgets, controlling costs while maintaining operational excellence in coordination with operations team.
  • Coordinate support services such as security, housekeeping, catering, and waste management and document all record for audits and inspections.
  • Lead safety audits and inspections, implementing corrective actions and promoting a strong safety culture and ensure that all facility operates within the set global guidelines.
  • Maintain documentation for regulatory audits, certifications, and internal compliance checks, labor laws, pollution control board and other government regulatory compliances.
  • Collaborate with product line managers and operations teams to align facility operations with business operations needs.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency and waste reduction programs.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate facility and shared services contracts, and ensure service quality for facility-related suppliers.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, identifying risks and implementing improvement plans.
  • Ensure emergency preparedness, including fire safety systems, evacuation plans, and disaster recovery measures.
  • Report facility KPIs and incidents to management, recommending process improvements.
  • Coordinates activities of personnel involved in repair and maintenance of facilities, building, and equipment to minimize interruption and improve efficiency.
  • Assists with the planning of department budget and construction budgets by reviewing reports of expenditures for previous fiscal year and proposed improvements to facilities.
  • May prepare construction specifications or plans, obtaining advice from MEP Engineers and General Contractors, assembly and analyze contract bids, and submit bids and recommendations to superiors for action.
  • Know and understand Weatherford’s enterprise excellence process and the quality policy and comply with all requirements of the quality systems manual, operating and technical procedures and workplace instructions. 
  • Must understand, comply and enforce all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in facility management, operations, or maintenance within oil & gas or heavy industrial sectors.

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

  • General computer skills.

  • Prior knowledge of office, construction and facility management.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • Multi-tasking ability.

  • Individual must be able to follow instructions.

  • Should be able to work closely with all levels of personnel and outside contractors.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • 7 to 10 years’ experience in Facilities Management of Oil & Gas service providers in India.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an civil / mechanical engineering or equivalent degree in facility / industrial engineering.
  • Prior experience with project planning and budget setting.
  • Understanding of budgetary process and fiscal responsibility requirements.

 

     This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to:  10-25%
