The Role
The Bioanalytical Operational Lead is a pivotal non-technical role responsible for the scientific operations of the Bioanalytical Laboratory. This person is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the laboratory in the areas of facility management, sample management, program management, purchase and PO management, document control, CSV, and LIMS management by managing matrix teams. The role is expected to ensure business efficiency and high performance. The role is expected to optimize processes, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and support strategic initiatives.
This role requires an initiative-taking individual who can manage complex operations, ensure compliance with GxP regulatory standards, effectively communicate with clients and drive innovation within the team and lab. The role reports into the Head of Bioanalytical Laboratory and is a full-time position based out of Bengaluru (Bangalore), India.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Work closely with the bioanalytical team, supervise and coordinate daily operational activities.
- Lead and manage the operations team, including work plans, performance management, capacity utilization and staff development.
- Monitor and work with the HoD to improve key performance indicators of the laboratory like SQDECC, QUOTIF and Quality metrics.
- Identify and implement simplification of processes to add process efficiencies.
- Coordinate with all enabling functions like finance, commercial, project management, IT and engineering for smooth functioning of the department.
- Be the client point of contact for laboratory operations related matters and participate in audits and inspections.
- Assist with budgeting, project proposals, forecasting and resource allocation.
- Provide training and mentorship to operations staff for their career growth.
- Be punctual and precise in all responses.
- Participate in strategic planning initiatives.
Education and Experience
Education : Master’s or PhD in Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ other biological sciences from a reputed university.
Industry Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of direct experience with a focus on scientific operations
- Demonstrated success in operational projects and scientific learning.
People leadership experience : Proven ability in leading, developing and managing teams.
Exposure and experience : Experience working in a CRO lab will be an added advantage.

- Has good organizational, project management and client engagement skills
Documentation
- Records data as per ALCOA++ policy
- Pay attention to detail.
- Is punctual in responding to QC and QA reports.
- Displays minimal audit finding index.
- Writes clearly and concisely with English skills at >B+
